Dr Tazia Zafar also speaks Bengali and Hindi.

She is a dedicated General Practitioner (FRACGP) committed to serve the Shire’s local community. She developed a strong passion for preventive health to minimise complications while working in the Emergency Department at Bankstown Hospital.

She has undertaken training in sexual and reproductive health (FPAA) and skin cancer medicine (Skin Cancer College Australasia), with special interests in women’s health and contraception. Dr Tazia is qualified in Implanon and Mirena (IUD) procedures, as well as MS-2 Step. She is passionate about empowering women to take ownership of their physical and mental health, and to live life to the fullest through “Menopause” and beyond.

Living with diabetes herself, Dr Tazia brings a deeply personal and empathetic approach to chronic disease management, particularly diabetes care.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and unwinding with a walk, music, or a good audiobook.
